Lace Up for the Exciting Fat Cats Race 10K!

Calling all runners! It's time to slip on your running shoes, limber up those muscles, and gear up for an exhilarating 10-kilometer race at the picturesque Waterval Park, Mall of Africa.

Presenting the 5th edition of the Fat Cats 10K Race, hosted by the esteemed Fat Cats Athletic Club and proudly powered by On Performance Shoes. This event is designed for the entire family to enjoy, so don't hesitate to bring the little ones – even those snug in strollers – and join in on either the 5-kilometre or 10-kilometre race.

Set your alarms because the 10K race kicks off at 7 am sharp, followed closely by the 5K race at 7:30 am. Be sure to stick around as the prize presentation and cutoff time is scheduled for 9 am.

Here's the exciting part: winners in each age group stand a chance to win cash prizes and fantastic merchandise. And that's not all; for the youngest athletes, there's a 1.6-kilometre Kitten Miler and a Nappy Dash – ensuring even the kids can partake in the fun. These delightful races can be entered on the day and commence at 9:15 am.

On the 8th of October 2023, the Fat Cats Athletic Club will once again host the much-anticipated Fat Cats 10K Race. This exciting event unfolds at Waterfall Park, Mall of Africa, promising a warm and inviting atmosphere synonymous with the Fat Cats tradition. Participants can choose between the challenging 10-kilometer or the new timed 5-kilometer race.

In line with their motto, "A Run for the Whole Family," this year's edition introduces the timed 5K race, offering attractive cash prizes as incentives. Organisers aim to encourage families and local schools to participate enthusiastically.

Walkers and those with strollers are more than welcome to join any of the events. Online registrants for the Fat Cats Race will receive delightful goodie bags, while all finishers will proudly walk away with medals as tokens of their achievement.

Parking is hassle-free with ample space available at Mall of Africa, and the flat rate for runners is just R10 for the entire day. Water stations will be conveniently positioned every 3-kilometres for the 10K race and every 2.5-kilometres for the 5K race, in addition to the finish line. For those aged over 70, enjoy a discounted entry fee, and make sure to explore the kids' play area at the finish line.
