The third iteration of On’s much-loved off-road performance shoe, the Cloudventure, packs as much of a punch as its predecessors, offering technical support and traction that will tame every trail you take these shoes on.

The third-generation Cloudventure is a lightweight, short to mid-distance trail running shoe that offers comfortable cushioning on the roughest of trails, while also protecting the feet and clawing at the terrain to keep you stable and grounded – but fast.

The shoe’s upper has been re-engineered, and now features two laminated materials, fused to mimic the feeling of just one, which snugly envelop the feet. Not only do these materials offer protection that is superior to previous generations of the shoe, but it also prevents punctures and tears in the shoe’s upper, while remaining breathable, comfortable and lightweight.

Meanwhile, the new design of the shoe’s tongue wraps around the midfoot to prevent slippage while blasting across rough terrain. 360° lightweight TPU reinforcements act as a buffer against trail debris, bumps and knocks. The Cloudventure’s lacing system has been designed to allow the foot to flex as it naturally would, adding to its comfort, and offering support in the right places.

The Cloudventure’s sole features a redesigned Slingshot Speedboard® with a new two-finger forefoot shape, which follows the big toe, and was inspired by the On Cloudpeak. The Speedboard® aids the natural rolling motion of the foot – this is key when having to navigate uneven terrain.

The improved Missiongrip™ on the Cloudventure’s outsole, along with a tweak to the shoe’s traction pattern, provide unrivalled grip on the trails, and the sole’s varied design is as sticky on dry trails as it is on wet ones.

Rough terrain requires greater support, and the Cloudventure comes with On’s signature CloudTec® technology on the sole. The thickness and geometry of the clouds in the Cloudventure’s heel soften landings, thanks to added space for compression in each cloud, which helps you to stay comfortable, no matter what distance you’re going. The closed-channel CloudTec® of the Cloudventure means no trail debris or stones will get stuck in the sole. The Cloudventure is made from 20% recycled content, meaning it isn’t only made for the great outdoors, but also keeps nature and sustainability in mind.
