CloudTec Phase® is On’s most advanced cushioning system to date. Developed using Finite Element Analysis (FEA), it arranges On’s signature cloud elements in a sequence that collapses progressively as the foot moves through each stride.

Unlike traditional midsoles, where impact absorption occurs uniformly, CloudTec Phase® is designed to mimic the natural rolling motion of the foot. Each cloud compresses in order, from heel to toe, creating a smoother transition and reducing shock at each phase of contact.

The cloud elements are made from Helion™ superfoam and do not require a Speedboard®. This results in a lighter, more flexible shoe with fewer components and improved sustainability. Some models stack two layers of Phase clouds for additional comfort and protection over long distances.

The geometry and positioning of each element is digitally optimised before production, reducing the need for physical prototypes and ensuring precision performance.

CloudTec Phase® reflects On’s commitment to performance engineering and sustainable innovation. Shaping the future of how running shoes are built.
