Wherever you live in our beautiful country, chances are there’s a scenic spot not too far from where you live that makes for an excellent place to go on your daily jog. With that being said, the world is filled with beautiful stretches of road and dirt that just are just begging for the rhythmic sound of jogging feet.
Here are five scenic jogging spots that need to be on your bucket list, according to Runner’s World magazine.
1. Yosemite National Park, California, USA
Glacier Point Road is located roughly 3,214 feet above the Yosemite Valley. The views will have you dumbstruck, and you can cool off in the nearby Merced River after your run. This is, according to quite a few people, the most scenic route you will ever run.
2. Luang Prabang, Laos
Near the centre of the city, a bamboo bridge traverses the Nam Khan River, and connects to wilderness trails that pass by ancient temples and the Luang Prabang Mountain Range.
3. Lisbon, Portugal
Lisbon is nicknamed the “City of Seven Hills” (that should take care of the workout), but jogging on the cobblestoned roads that are the veins of this historic city will leave you with much more than just a quick exercise session.
4. Chamonix, France
Take to the road along the Col des Montets pass that links France with Switzerland, and let the majestic Alps look over you as you jog in this beautiful part of the world.
5. The Grand Canyon, Arizona, USA
While the South Kaibab Trail on the canyon’s South Rim won’t be the easiest run you’ve completed by a long shot, it might just provide the most breathtaking view of them all.
