Tifosi’s call for entries to become an ambassador for some of our brands was met with great enthusiasm and hundreds of applicants. Tifosi was thrilled to announce the final list of 29 ambassadors in April, and now it is our pleasure to introduce you to the guys and girls who represent Tifosi’s brands when they compete in numerous events across the country and abroad.
In this article, as a part of a series about our new ambassadors, we introduce Louise Cilliers.
What is your favourite sport?
Triathlon – swim, bike, run.
What do you love most about your choice of sport?
I like the diversity of the sport: different people from different walks of life, all trying to better themselves, keep healthy or raise awareness and funds for a charity or cause. Plus, triathletes are the friendliest and most positive people you will ever meet. It is just incredible how helpful and encouraging people within the sport are.
When did you start participating in this sport and what made you get into it?
I come from a competitive swimming background and have always wanted to enter and compete at a 70.3 Ironman. When I started dating my now-husband, he was already competing at Ironman and
he helped find my footing, as there is a LOT of information to digest when preparing for a triathlon with three disciplines. I entered my very first triathlon in 2014.
What is your favourite piece of Compressport apparel and why do you use it?
Well, there are so many… but I guess I would pick 3: the Calf Sleeves, Ultralight socks and the awesome Peaks.
How do you stay motivated – especially during the winter and over holidays?
It is best to make sure that you have looked at the upcoming race schedule and have started entering some races. It’s also good to try and incorporate some strength work into your training during the winter months, it helps to mix things up.
What advice would you give someone who has just started their fitness journey?
Consistency is key! Be patient.
