World’s first sports and wellness cruise line to set sail in 2020The Social Media Company
The former CEO of the largest private residential ship, The World, Fredy Dellis, has launched a new luxury condominium cruise ship, which touts itself as the “first cruise line dedicated to sports and wellness”.
Blue World Voyages partnered with a range of wellness brands in its pursuit of designing a residential ship that focuses almost exclusively on fitness, including Yoga Journal, Outside magazine and Hank Haney Golf. Top marine design architects Thomas Tillberg International and interior design firm Juan Poggi Design are in charge of the extensive refit of the ship.
One deck on the ship will be entirely dedicated to wellness, and will feature the largest spa facility per passenger at sea. Two other decks will shift the focus to fitness, and will be kitted out with a golf school, the world’s largest ocean-going functional training and strength conditioning facility, and a bike fitting station.
Passengers will also have access to shore-side activities when the ship docks at its planned destinations, which are rumoured to include France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Croatia, Turkey and Montenegro. These activities will vary from cycling, golf and tennis to hiking and water sports, among others.
Fitness enthusiasts are able to purchase one of between 24 and 40 one- and two-bedroom residences on the ship. The fully furnished 111.5 square-metre two-bedroom residences feature a spacious living area that opens up to a balcony, a second level with master and guest en-suite bedrooms and a choice between either classic or contemporary décor.
At a cool £2,557,000 (approximately R48,813,559) and £1,790,000 (approximately R34,185,034) respectively, these apartments definitely don’t come cheap – but if you’re fanatic about fitness and have got a few millions you’re burning to get rid of, Blue World Voyages is waiting to hear from you.
